These observations are only clear in hindsight, since if Feats Don't Fail Me Now is just taken as a record, it's nothing more than a damn good rock & roll record. That's not meant as a dismissal, either, since it's hard to make a rock & roll record as seemingly effortless and infectious as this. Though it effectively builds on the Southern-fried funkiness of Dixie Chicken, it's hardly as mellow as that record - there's a lot of grit, tougher rhythms, lots of guitar and organ.
I have a Dutch version of this LP, with the exact same errors in the track listing on the back cover. Reply Notify me Helpful.
I saw Little Feat for the first time on a billing with Bonnie Raitt at Irvine Auditorium in 1972. It was clear to me that this band was poised to make a strong impact on American Rock and Roll. The combination of different rhythms and Lowell George's innovative slide guitar still makes my heart race. Fortunately there are excellent videos of this band playing throughout the 70s-they left a definite mark in Europe as well.
