The Brothers Johnson's second album Right on Time consists of some of the best proto-typical funk-soul grooves from the late 70s. The album is again produced by Quincy Jones and his contributions ensure the high quality of the instrumental arrangements and general glossiness of the audio production as in their debut album. 180 gram audiophile vinyl. Including 8 page booklet with lyrics. Louis and George Johnson formed The Brothers Johnson under the auspices of Quincy Jones in 1975, releasing this second album in 1977. With Quincy at the helm as producer, the duo quickly broke wide open with its debut album. The Brothers Johnson's second album Right on Time consists of some of the best proto-typical funk-soul grooves from the late 70s.

The Brothers Johnson recorded their version with Quincy Jones for their hit 1977 album Right on Time, recreating Shuggie’s psychedelic guitar solo with session player Lee Ritenour. The song peaked at on the Billboard Hot 100 and went to on the R&B Charts.

Otis recorded it for his 1971 album Freedom Flight, george Johnson, of the Brothers Johnson, was dating one of Otiss cousins when he came across the album Freedom Flight. The group recorded Strawberry Letter 23 for their 1977 album Right on Time, which was produced by Quincy Jones, and they recorded the song in a funkier, more dance-oriented vein than the original Otis version. Their rendition hit the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at number five, studio guitar player Lee Ritenour recreated Otiss original guitar solo for the Brothers Johnson cover.

The Brothers Johnson. Louis Johnson recorded a gospel music album in 1981 with his own group Passage, which included his then-wife Valerie Johnson and former Brothers Johnson Richard Heath. He played bass on Michael Jackson's Off the Wall and Thriller. The first was released in 1985. Runnin' for Your Lovin'".
