Dream Theater has announced details of a monumental European headline tour. Tickets and VIP Packages at ww. reamTheater.
Images and Words is the second studio album by Dream Theater, released on July 7, 1992 through ATCO Records. It is the first Dream Theater release to feature James LaBrie on vocals. The album maintains its position as the band’s most commercially successful studio album to date, and the song Pull Me Under has the distinction of being the only top-10 hit (radio or otherwise) the band has had to date. After Charlie Dominici’s departure from Dream Theater, the band auditioned nearly 200 people across the nation before James LaBrie, then of the Canadian glam metal band Winter Rose, sent the band an audition tape. After a short jam session, he was named Dream Theater’s new lead singer, and has remained so ever since. With LaBrie on board, the band was signed to a seven-album contract by ATCO Records, and shortly after began recording their new album in late 1991.

Images, Words & Beyond" tour dates: Jan. 30 - Rome, Italy - Auditorium Parco Della Musica Fe. Regarding how DREAM THEATER approached "Images And Words" as opposed to "When Day And Dream Unite", Petrucci said: "With 'When Day And Dream Unite', we were really young and we had just got signed, we had a very short period of time to record it. We went as a band to live together in Pennsylvania and then we would go in and record. We really didn't have any experience. Images' was a bit later and we had more experience, some more gear, and some more ideas about what we wanted to do.

Earlier this year, Dream Theater brought their "Images, Words & Beyond" tour to Europe earlier this winter. The band mentioned bringing the tour stateside, so it's exciting to finally see dates for the tour. The trek begins Oct. 25 in Oakland, and runs all the way through Dec. 3 in Houston, Texas. Of the upcoming tour, guitarist John Petrucci says, We are so psyched to bring our 'Images, Words & Beyond' tour to North America this fall! It’s hard to believe that it’s already been 25 years since Images was released! We’ve been having a blast playing those songs.
