Boingo is the eighth and final studio album by American new wave band Oingo Boingo. It was the band's only album recorded for their new label, Giant Records, as well as the only album to be released by the band's 1994 5-piece line-up. After 1990's Dark at the End of the Tunnel, frontman Danny Elfman felt he was again "starting to get bored" with the band's musical direction and that a change was necessary to stay active
Oingo Boingo began in 1972 as The Mystic Knights Of The Oingo Boingo and was initially lead by Richard Elfman as a musical theater troupe. Richard's brother Danny Elfman took over control in 1976 and in the same year they performed on the television program The Gong Show. In 1977 Richard Elfman had the act perform the soundtrack project for his film Forbidden Zone. In 1979 the act shortened their name to Oingo Boingo and reformulated their sound. In 1978 the remnants of the Mystic Knights formed together under lead singer Danny Elfman as the band Oingo Boingo. The hyperkinetic ska-flavored New Wave band is characterized by their manic live performances and eclectic range of songs; Elfman and the band performed for a remarkable twenty years.
Oingo Boingo - PRIVATE LIFE - 12" SINGLE " NEW, NEVER PLAYED. The album does let up a bit occasionally, as if to let us catch our breath. Can't See (Useless), which is actually a quite beautiful song, gives way to the ferocious Pedestrian Wolves, another high point on this album of high points. Spider, a relatively low key (for this album) song, leads into War Again and a hot version of I Am The Walrus, and end with Change.
Oingo Boingo is the first official release from the southern California new wave band Oingo Boingo. The song selection includes three original compositions by Danny Elfman, as well as a ska inflected cover of bluesman Willie Dixon's "Violent Love". The EP was issued on cassette tape, 10", and 12" vinyl formats with a slight difference in the track listing: the 10" version contained the 1979 version of "Ain't This the Life" from their Demo EP, while the 12" version and cassette contained a new recording.

Farewell (Oingo Boingo album). The compilation album Anthology (1999) contained the Tender Lumplings intro from the video release, as well as extra dialogue on Insects, We Close Our Eyes and Whole Day Off that was cut from the double album. The concert video was re-released on DVD on September 18, 2001, as a two-disc set. All the bonus features from the VHS release were included on the 2nd disc, although the two music videos were hidden easter eggs on the DVD.
