EP7 to me is an amazing album by Autechre, and perhaps is in their top 3 to 4 albums along with LP5 & Chiastic Slide. Obviously it depends on what era Autechre you enjoy, but if you enjoy LP5 then I believe you'll love this album. This album took me a long time to appreciate, at first I thought nothing of it. It seemed like an album filled with ideas, not necessarily songs. However, out of all the Autechre releases this one has grown on me the most, as I've come to realise what this album is about  . Six years on and EP7 is still a strong contender as any of today's electronica, one wonders what direction Autechre will go next. Their releases up to now follow are consistent, it remains to be seen (or heard rather), if they come up with something less predictable. Reply Notify me Helpful.

Label: Warp Records ‎– wapep7. Format: Vinyl, 12", 33 ⅓ RPM, EP. Country: UK.

An EP of remixes of Incunabula's "Basscadet" was released in 1994, with animated computer graphics for the Bcdtmx version created by Jess Scott-Hunter. This music video featured on MTV Europe's Party Zone when Autechre were interviewed during the show in September that year  . 1995 saw the release of Tri Repetae, their third album, as well as the EPs Anvil Vapre and Garbage, featuring a monochrome cover designed by The Designers Republic, with whom Autechre have long held a close association. Autechre released three records in 1997: the full length Chiastic Slide, and the EPs Envane, and Cichlisuite (pronounced "sickly sweet"). The latter EP consists of five remixed versions of "Cichli" from Chiastic Slide.

British electronic music duo Autechre have released thirteen studio albums, sixteen EPs, and a handful of singles. They have also released 28 concerts as digital downloads through their own digital store. I Released as Tri Repetae++ in the US with Garbage and Anvil Vapre. Notes: A Peel Session charted at number 2 on the Budget Album Chart, as opposed to the UK Singles Chart. 1996: Keynell (12" vinyl promo, two remixes of the Gescom track).

Released June 7, 1999. EP7 is, as the name implies, the 7th EP from Autechre, released on Warp Records in 1999. This release is classified by the duo as an EP, even though it’s more than double the length of a normal EP (30 minutes). More Autechre albums. Show all albums by Autechre.

EP7 is the 7th EP by the electronic music group Autechre, released by Warp Records on June 7, 1999. It is classified as an EP by the band despite being long enough to qualify as an album. The record was released in two parts on vinyl, named EP. and EP. The name of this EP prompted Warp Records to give the name LP5 to the previously released untitled album by the band. The fractal on the cover was designed with a circuit board designer. The minisite created by Warp also featured a fractal generator that would create new artwork similar to that featured throughout the liner notes.

Less than a year after a vaunted full-length, Autechre returns with an hour-long EP that, given the artistic and sonic departures inside, could easily have made it LP6 instead of EP7. Sean Booth and Rob Brown's insistence on coaxing only the most spidery and alien bits of percussion from their PC audio software is in full effect, as on 1998's LP5, but the duo appears to have pulled back a bit from the yawning edge of abstract sonic manipulation.

Worth the crazy asking prices being given out on ebay for the track Ccec alone. Superbly distorted and garbled hip-hop vocals that have been combined with ae's trademark killer production and majestic dischordant sounds. One of the first pieces of truly abstract hip-hop I ever heard. Awesome.
