Beatles Beginnings Three: Silver Beatles. Исполнитель: Various artists.
The Silver Beetles was one of the earlier band names before The Beatles. John Lennon wanted a name that sounded English. He wanted The Crickets, but Paul McCartney, laughing, said, "I think that's already taken. John liked it but quickly changed it to The Beatals, and then to The Beatles, because it had the word beat. The Silver Beetles was the name that stayed with them for most of the Hamburg tour.
The Complete Silver Beatles. Three Cool Cats (2:23). Recorded: January 1, 1962 at the West Hampstead Studios of Decca Records, London, England John Lennon - rhythm guitar Paul McCartney - bass guitar George Harrison - lead vocal, lead guitar Pete Best - drums.
Only for completionists (25%). I don& have this album, but I have listened to all the songs from this album from other sources. in fact, they were broadcasted in a FM radio station in my city in a series of programmes dedicated to the history of the band. It was in late 1982, I think. The title of this album "The Complete Silver Beatles" is not really good. The band at that time did no use that name. They were known then as The Beatles in Liverpool and in Hamburg. I don& know why the record label used a title like that for this album. Maybe the rights for the use of the recordings were not very clear then, but I really don& know the whole story behind the release of this album.
Maxwell's Silver Hammer" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1969 album Abbey Road. Maxwell's Silver Hammer" is a pop song with dark, eccentric lyrics about a medical student named Maxwell Edison who commits murders with a hammer. The lyrics are disguised by the upbeat, catchy, and rather "childlike" sound of the song
Detail : Neither "Complete", nor "The Silver Beatles". but this is the first official release of 12 of the 15 songs recorded by The Beatles at their Decca Audition of 1st January 1962. This session was held at the Broadhurst Gardens, West Hampstead studio's of Decca records in London, less than two miles from Abbey Road ! John, Paul, George and Pete Best (who had dropped the name "Silver Beatles" a year earlier) were met by Decca A&R man, Mike Smith at 11:00 and ran through 15 songs in under an hour
As The Beatles drifted apart in the late 1960s, you found more and more recordings missing members of the group. In the case of The Ballad of John and Yoko, the track went out without the help of Ringo or George Harrison because both were out of town at the time. However, if you look at Abbey Road or Let It Be, you’ll find various tunes missing the contributions of one or more Beatles. That person was usually John Lennon, who either wasn’t present during the recording sessions or simply didn’t want to play on a song he didn’t write . John seemed to hate everything about ‘Maxwell’s Silver Hammer.
Maxwell's Silver Hammer was finally completed on 6 August, when McCartney recorded his Moog synthesiser solo. We put together quite a nice album, and the only arguments were about things like me spending three days on Maxwell's Silver Hammer. I remember George saying, 'You've taken three days, it's only a song. 'Yeah, but I want to get it right. Maxwell’s Silver Hammer and Octopuses Garden, look we have to accept experimentation. The Beatles broke new ground with the White Album and the Let it Be sessions show that they were moving along on the same track.
