The American Way is the second studio album by American thrash metal band Sacred Reich, released on May 15, 1990 by Metal Blade Records. The video for "The American Way" was used in the 1992 film Encino Man. The album debuted at on September 1, 1990 on the Billboard 200 charts, lasting for 9 weeks. An enhanced remastered version released in 2009 contains pre-production demo recordings and a free patch

Dark, troubling, and often highly sociopolitical, Reich has a lot to say on this solid effort. Addressing such topics as environmental destruction ("Crimes Against Humanity") and the horrors of apartheid in South Africa ("State of Emergency"), The American Way makes us glad that lead singer/bassist Phil Rind had become fairly easy to understand.

This album was out of print for the past 10 years. They included the album version and also pre-release versions of the songs. Also included with the CD is a Sacred Reich patch. American Way has the same riff repeated over and over, but it never gets old - like Pantera's "walk". Plus it's still heavy as hell.
