The Top is the fifth studio album by British alternative rock band the Cure, released on 30 April 1984 by record label Fiction. It entered the UK Albums Chart at N°10 on 12 May. Shortly after its release, the Cure embarked on a major UK tour culminating with a three-night residency at the Hammersmith Odeon in London.

Released in March, it was a record-setting album that made her the youngest female in albums chart history to hit the top spot in the UK. Tom Walker also rocketed to the top of the charts in March when he released What A Time To Be Alive – his album is the ninth biggest overall (167,000) and is the third best-seller on physical formats.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers' "Hypnotic Eye" album relseased July 29, 2014. After a nearly 37-year wait, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers earn their first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. The band's new Hypnotic Eye arrives atop the chart, selling 131,000 copies in the week ending Aug. 3, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Petty leads a busy top 10, where five more albums arrive in the region. Eric Clapton is next up in the debut parade, as the veteran rocker bows at No. 2 with The Breeze: An Appreciation of JJ Cale (61,000).
The third album by Jack and Meg White was the right dynamite for a mainstream breakthrough. Jack’s Delta-roadhouse fantasies, Detroit-garage-rock razzle and busted-love lyricism, as well as Meg’s toy-thunder drumming all peaked at once. Then this solo debut album of razor-sharp dance pop became the first by a female performer to score four Top Five hits, including Girls Just Want to Have Fun and Time After Time.
