A Hard Road is the third album (and second studio album) recorded by John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, released in 1967. It features Peter Green on lead guitar, John McVie on bass, Aynsley Dunbar on drums and John Almond on saxophone. Tracks 5, 7 and 13 feature the horn section of Alan Skidmore and Ray Warleigh. Peter Green sings lead vocals on "You Don't Love Me" and "The Same Way".

John Lennon: vocals, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, harmonica, tambourine Paul McCartney: vocals, bass guitar, piano, cowbell George Harrison: vocals, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, claves Ringo Starr: drums, cowbell, conga, tambourine George Martin: piano Norman Smith: bongos. And despite their whirlwind schedule of touring and studio sessions, the soundtrack to A Hard Day's Night turned out to be one of The Beatles' strongest long-players.

Abbey Road is the eleventh studio album by English rock band The Beatles. The recording sessions for the album were the last in which all four Beatles participated. Although Let It Be was the final album that the Beatles completed before the band's dissolution in April 1970, most of the album had been recorded before the Abbey Road sessions began.

And Lennon doesn't shy away from the hard rockers - "How Do You Sleep" is a scathing attack on Paul McCartney, "I Don't Want to Be a Soldier" is a hypnotic antiwar song, and "Give Me Some Truth" is bitter hard rock. If Imagine doesn't have the thematic sweep of Plastic Ono Band, it is nevertheless a remarkable collection of songs that Lennon would never be able to better again.

John’s relationship with her was finally consummated just 11 days prior to the start of the White Album’s sessions at Abbey Road, and it caused him to re-evaluate his pampered existence. He had not been happy with Beatle-life for a long time, and his feelings were becoming clear as the band reconvened for the sessions. A dormant hard-man persona came to the fore in Lennon. The moptop-era puppy fat was gone forever, now replaced with a lean, mean demeanour: Lennon the Peace Yob. It was the template for Liam Gallagher 25 years later, and a role Lennon himself would inhabit for the remainder of the decade. Angry John was easily mistaken for Political John. Resentful that nobody liked his new girlfriend, he started ranting about peace, furiously planting acorns and shouting at journalists from bed.

It was Elton who spotted the chart-topping potential of ‘Whatever Gets You Thru The Night’, a storming track to which he contributes. Images from the album cover Childhood drawings by John Lennon. While his struggles with US immigration dragged on, John re-established himself in New York and made renewed overtures to Yoko, with whom he had never lost contact. Old Dirt Road’ Howard Johnson: baritone saxophone on ‘Scared’ The 44th Street Fairies: May Pang, Lori Burton, Joey Dambra and me background vocals Lolly and Stan: extra added attraction on ‘Surprise, Surprise (Sweet Bird Of Paradox)’. Julian Lennon: drums on ‘Ya Ya’ Dad: piano and vocals on ‘Ya Ya’.
