But "Like It Or Not" returns to the chaos, even as it shifts to pitchbent guitars halfway through, while "Sickness" drops in some more electronic tones.

Matt Mehlan is the ringleader of the collective Skeletons and the Kings of All Cities, whose sound is as sprawling and all-encompassing as their name. Mehlan has created in LUCAS a fairy tale-like concept album, but even when the narrative becomes oblique there is no mistaking the grandeur and majesty of the sonic world on offer. Sweeping arrangements featuring strings, various percussion, and a host of other noisemaking devices stretch the scope of the Skeletons' music, creating a larger canvas for their idiosyncratic pop vision

The clip for What They Said captures the vibrancy of a summertime Coney Island crowd, replete with dancers, carnival rides, and beach bums.
