Skeletons (also known as Skeletons and the Girl-Faced Boys, Skeletons and the Kings of All Cities, and Skeleton$) are an American entertainment unit from Oberlin, Ohio. They currently live in New York City. Skeletons began as the solo project of Chicago native musician and filmmaker Matt Mehlan in 2001
Complete your Skeletons And The Kings Of All Cities collection. The s Skeletons return with LUCAS, an odd assemblage of tracks, which kicks off with the spare rhythms and phased vocals and growing clatter of "What They Said" or the continual swoon of "Fake Tits" and the haze of "Hay W'Happns?" The long jam of "Don't Worry" contrasts with the gentle strums and strings of "The Shit from the Dogs. But "Like It Or Not" returns to the chaos, even as it shifts to pitchbent guitars halfway through, while "Sickness" drops in some more electronic tones.

Matt Mehlan is the ringleader of the collective Skeletons and the Kings of All Cities, whose sound is as sprawling and all-encompassing as their name. Mehlan has created in LUCAS a fairy tale-like concept album, but even when the narrative becomes oblique there is no mistaking the grandeur and majesty of the sonic world on offer. Sweeping arrangements featuring strings, various percussion, and a host of other noisemaking devices stretch the scope of the Skeletons' music, creating a larger canvas for their idiosyncratic pop vision
In 2007, Skeletons released the album Lucas, also on Ghostly, under the name Skeletons and the Kings of All Cities. The album was recorded in the band's converted Queens warehouse studio and home, The Silent Barn. com/Skeletons (band).

Formerly known as Skeletons & the Girl-Faced Boys, the motley crew of rotating musicians helmed by Matt Mehlan returns for more experimental instrumentation and inventive arrangements on the forthcoming album, LUCAS. The clip for What They Said captures the vibrancy of a summertime Coney Island crowd, replete with dancers, carnival rides, and beach bums. Eagle-eyed video viewers can catch glimpses of situational irony ( Keep Off Jetty ) and even a Hulk Hogan sighting. LUCAS will haunt stores May 8 on the Ghostly International imprint.
