No Protection is a 1995 dub remix of Massive Attack's second album Protection by the British dub producer Mad Professor. Mad Professor was contacted by Massive Attack after Protection was released to remix a song for a single. After the single was remixed, the band asked Mad Professor to listen to more of the album to explore the possibility of further remixes. The project then became a track by track remix of almost the entire album.

The dub version of Horace Andy’s beautiful In the Light album was created by Prince Jammy. The meld of Andy’s distinctive high tenor over soundscapes put together by Jammy, Leroy Sibbles, and Augustus Pablo is just sublime. Kode9 & Spaceape – Memories of the Future (Hyperdub, 2006). Dubstep producer Kode9 (owner of the much lauded Hyperdub label) teams up with menacing vocalist The Spaceape (aka Massive Attack’s Daddy G) to unleash a shuddering bass-heavy vision. Tappa Zukie – In Dub (Blood & Fire reissue, 1995). Full of incredible surprises. Mad Professor – Dub Me Crazy (Ariwa, 1982). The first and perhaps best of the Dub Me Crazy series from the leader of the 80s UK dub movement. The new digital sound and expanded layers of sound are just incredible. Lee Perry & Mad Professor – Black Ark Experryments (Ariwa, 1995).
