Album · 2000 · 5 Songs. 4 in D Minor, S. 359, No. 4 (Corresponds Piano version No. 12 in C-Sharp Minor). Berlin Philharmonic & Herbert von Karajan. 3. 2 in C-Sharp Minor, S. 244: Orchestral version: Franz Doppler. 4. 5 in E Minor, S. 244 Heroïde-Elégiaque. 5. Fantasia on Hungarian Folk Tunes, S. 123. Shura Cherkassky, Berlin Philharmonic & Herbert von Karajan.

The Fantasia on Hungarian Folk Melodies (German: Fantasie über ungarische Volksmelodien, Hungarian: Fantázia magyar népi dallamokkal), commonly known in short form simply as the Hungarian Fantasy, is Franz Liszt's arrangement for piano and orchestra of his Hungarian Rhapsody No. 14, originally for solo piano. The Fantasia was written in 1852 and premiered in Pest on June 1, 1853, with Hans von Bülow as soloist and Ferenc Erkel conducting the orchestra.

Liszt: Hungarian Rhapsody N. In D Minor, . 59 N. (Corresponds Piano Version No. 12 In C Sharp Minor) by Berliner Philharmoniker and Herbert von Karajan. The Hungarian Rhapsodies are actually 19 in number (for piano), with 6 of them getting the orchestra treatment. Anyone looking for all 6 together should check first the Dorati on Mercury Enesco: Roumanian Rhapsody N., Liszt: Hungarian Rhapsodies No. -6. Getting all the tone poems together is a larger investment, especially my preferred set by Joo Liszt: Symphonic Poems, Complete. In Mazeppa, by-the-way, Karajan takes the usual cut in the ending march, which takes out a bunch of the music - recordings by Joo and Kurt Masur do not observe the cut.

Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2, . 44/2, is the second in a set of 19 Hungarian Rhapsodies by composer Franz Liszt, and is by far the most famous of the set. Few other piano solos have achieved such widespread popularity, offering the pianist the opportunity to reveal exceptional skill as a virtuoso, while providing the listener with an immediate and irresistible musical appeal. It is considered one of the most technically demanding works in the solo piano repertoire.

Franz Liszt (1811–1886). Hungarian Rhapsody № 5 in e minor . 44 № 5. Sheet Music. Alexander Borovsky (piano). Berliner Philharmoniker Herbert von Karajan (conductor). Cyprien Katsaris (piano). Zoltán Kocsis (piano). Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra Kurt Masur (conductor). Vincenzo Maltempo (Piano). Vadim Monastersky (piano).
