Back Home is pure Caedmon's Call, with a clean acoustic sound and inspiring vocals. The title Back Home is appropriate for this album. The first track, "Only Hope," speaks of God being our only hope even though we fail. Hands of the Potter," explains how we as Christians are continually on our way back home to the Father. Any fan will be delighted with this album, yet, if you are not familiar with Caedmon's Call, I would recommend purchasing their 2001 release In the Company of Angels before Back Home.

This song is by Caedmon's Call and appears on the album Back Home (2003). This song is a cover of "The High Countries" by Sandra McCracken. A bus station, in the stream from the rainIn this line of pale strangers, should I go or stay? The whole field of vision, fades beneath me nowAnd the houses spread for a million miles, in this gray town. And the weight of glory, if you held it in your handIt would pass right through you, so now's your chance.
CCM band Caedmon's Call fuse folk-rock with adult alternative rock influences. Cliff Young (vocals, rhythm guitar), Derek Webb (lead guitar, vocals), Danielle Glenn (vocals), Aric Nitzberg (bass), Todd Bragg (drums), Randy Holsapple (organ), and Garett Buell (percussion) formed the Houston, Texas-based band at Texas Christian University in the summer of 1992. The group originally included Aaron Tate, who left the band shortly after its formation, but he continued to write songs with Young.
