Reload is a 1999 album by Tom Jones. It contains fifteen duets with a range of artists including Van Morrison, Cerys Matthews, Stereophonics, Robbie Williams and Portishead, recorded with their usual record producers and in their usual studios. The tracks are mainly cover versions, with a new version of one of his own songs, "Looking Out My Window" (1968), and one original track, "Sex Bomb".
Tom Jones became one of the most popular vocalists to emerge from the British Invasion. Since the mid-'60s, Jones has sung nearly every form of popular music - pop, rock, show tunes, country, dance, and techno, he's sung it all. His actual style - a full-throated, robust baritone that had little regard for nuance and subtlety - never changed, he just sang over different backing tracks. Soon, he was on the comeback trail again, releasing the alternative dance-pop album The Lead and How to Swing It in the fall of 1994; the record was a moderate hit, gaining some play in dance clubs. Jones enjoyed an even bigger hit with 1999's Reload, which featured duets with an array of contemporaries and those he influenced.
Although I Me Mine was considered by The Beatles to be little more than a filler track for the album, Harrison evidently retained a liking for it. His autobiography, published in 1980, was named after the song, and he stood by its philosophical sentiments. I Me Mine is the ego problem. There are two 'I's: the little 'i' when people say 'I am this'; and the big 'I' – ie duality and ego. There is nothing that isn't part of the complete whole. George’s songs were frequebtly dismissed by John and Paul (. All Things Must Pass was written for Abbey Road album but they threw together that shitty B side instead of using it). George was also ranked by Rolling Stone in Top 100 Guitarists, no less accomplished than Paul! John, Ringo and George all called a lot of the songs that Paul was writing in the later years old bitty songs and complained about having to record them.
